Privacy Policy

Take the Power Back (“TTPB,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) exists to empower students with transparent, fair, and direct opportunities. Protecting your privacy is central to that mission. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. What Data We Collect

When you use TTPB, we collect:
  • Student accounts: name, email, education details, work history, resume/profile, application activity.
  • Employer accounts: company name, logo, website, recruiter contact details, job postings.
  • Applications & communication: resumes, cover letters, interview scheduling, messages.
  • Technical data: device/browser information, IP addresses, usage logs, cookies, analytics data (via Google Analytics 4 and JBoard’s built-in tools).
  • Payment data: processed securely by Stripe; TTPB never stores credit card details.

2. How We Use Data

We use your information to:
  • Operate TTPB (job matching, applications, moderation).
  • Communicate with you (account emails, job alerts, platform updates).
  • Improve services (analytics, feature testing, fraud prevention).
  • Enforce Posting Rules and keep the platform safe.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. When We Share Data

We never sell your data. We only share it in these cases:
  • With employers: Your application data is shared only when you actively apply to a job.
  • With service providers: Hosting, analytics (GA4), payment processing (Stripe), email delivery.
  • When legally required: If needed to comply with laws or valid legal requests.

4. Your Controls & Choices

We never sell your data. We only share it in these cases:
  • You can edit or update your profile anytime.
  • You can delete your account directly from your dashboard.
  • To request a data export, email [info@TTPB.com] — exports are processed by our team.
  • Profile Visibility
    • By default, your profile and resume are private. Employers only see your information when you actively apply to their job.
    • You may choose to opt in and make your profile discoverable by employers, if you want to be contacted directly.
    • We’ve chosen “private by default, optional opt-in” as the student-first standard. Please confirm you’re aligned with this approach.

5. Employer Responsibilities

Employers agree to:
  • Use applicant data only for the job to which the student applied.
  • Not resell, scrape, or reuse resumes outside TTPB.
  • Respect student privacy and communication preferences.

6. Security

We use JBoard’s infrastructure and industry-standard safeguards:
  • TLS encryption for data in transit.
  • Encryption at rest for sensitive data.
  • Passwords stored with strong hashing algorithms.
  • Limited employee access to data (least privilege).
  • Regular patching and vulnerability monitoring.

7. Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies to:
  • Keep you logged in (session cookies).
  • Protect against fraud (XSRF tokens).
  • Measure usage and improve features (GA4).

8. Data Retention

  • We retain account data while you are active on TTPB.
  • If you close your account, we delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Inactive accounts are not automatically deleted; they remain until closed by the user or upon request.

9. Children’s Privacy

TTPB is not intended for anyone under 16 years old. If we learn we have collected data from a user under 16, we will delete it immediately.

10. International Users

If you are outside the United States, your data will be processed and stored in the U.S.

11. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top reflects the current version. If changes are significant, we’ll notify users by email or platform notice.
