Job Posting Rules

Take the Power Back (TTPB) exists to give students transparent, safe, and high-quality opportunities that bypass outdated systems. To protect students, uphold our mission, and maintain trust, every job posting on TTPB must follow the rules below.

These rules apply to all employers, partners, and organizations posting jobs, internships, or other opportunities.

Direct Employers Only

Only direct employers, startup founders, or verified company representatives submit jobs directly on TTPB.

To make the platform more valuable for students, some roles may also be aggregated from external job boards. These externally sourced jobs are clearly labeled and reviewed by TTPB before going live.

Employer Verification

  • Employers must provide:
    • Legal company name
    • Company logo and website
    • Business email address (not free mail)
    • Valid recruiter/hiring manager contact info
    • LinkedIn/company profile strongly encouraged
  • Accounts with incomplete or unverifiable information will be rejected.

Job Posting Standards

Every job post must include:
  • Job title
  • Role type (Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Internship)
  • Location (Remote, Hybrid, or On-site)
  • Responsibilities and requirements
  • Company description / mission
  • Application method and deadline
Jobs must be truthful, real, and currently open — no “ghost jobs,” “evergreen posts,” or speculative listings.

Compensation and Internships

  • All jobs must disclose pay terms (hourly, salary, commission, equity, or a mix).
  • Unpaid internships are allowed with clear disclosure.
  • No job may require applicants to pay fees or purchase products to apply/interview.

Contingent or “Spec” Roles

  • Jobs must be for real, active openings.
  • If a role is conditional (e.g., “if we get funding”), it must be clearly disclosed in the posting.

Moderation & Review

  • Every new employer and every new job is reviewed by TTPB moderators before going live.
  • Trusted employers — such as alumni, sponsors, or repeat posters with a positive history, may qualify for faster approval.
  • Jobs in high-risk categories (commission-only sales, crypto, remote-first roles) will always receive extra scrutiny.

Community Reporting

  • Students can report any job via a “Report this Job” button on each job detail page.
  • Reports are reviewed within 1 business day.

  • Employers who repeatedly violate posting rules will be suspended.

Rejection & Remediation

  • If your posting is rejected, you’ll receive an explanation and steps to fix it.
  • Employers may resubmit after addressing feedback.

Expired or Filled Jobs

  • Employers must close jobs once filled or expired.
  • TTPB moderators will regularly sweep and remove outdated listings.

Focus & Fit

  • TTPB prioritizes startup, sales, and entrepreneurial roles — opportunities often blocked by traditional career centers.
  • But we welcome any quality opportunity that meets these rules and aligns with our student-first mission.

Prohibited Content

  • Multi-level marketing (MLM), pyramid schemes, “get rich quick” roles
  • Jobs requiring applicant fees or purchases
  • Exploitative or misleading postings
  • Sexually explicit or unsafe roles
  • Jobs that violate labor laws
